The Off Road Lighweight Articulated Semi-Trailer (Off Road Artic for short)
The Articulated Semi-Trailers are common on our roads today. The lightweight versions of these vehicles are less common and the off road versions rarer still.
Created to be robust and effective, the Lightweight and High Mobility Off Road Artic have the ability to transform and adapt to become all things to all users. The Off Road Semi-Trailer was primarily born out of the desire to make a difference to inaccessible tribes effected by the AIDS virus, by bringing much needed clinical assistance and educational input. To be wholly viable it had to survive the demands placed upon it whether commercially or charitable, so a range of vehicles was designed and engineered to provide an evolutionary and dynamic transportation alternative.
The Lightweight Artic and the law
A fascinating fact is that, the law allows for people who have passed their test before 1997 to drive a vehicle and trailer (or any combination of the two) of no more than 8,250kg. Which is what made the lightweight artic come into existence. The reality is now that where the massive capacity of the larger trucks is not required then the lightweight version is half the cost in both purchase and operation.
